Sweet Christmas
"Love is sweet"
Nicole is finally getting back on her feet and enjoying a simple life, running the family candy store that she almost lost in a recent divorce. She is perplexed when Jennifer, a new employee, disappears after 30 days without notice or warning. Shortly thereafter, Jennifer opens a competing candy store, using Nicole’s candy recipes! Nicole suspects that her ex is somehow involved, and a bit of sleuthing confirms her suspicions that he is co-owner of the new business. They even go as far as to place an advertisement on a bench right outside of Nicole’s shop.
For Nicole, this is the final insult. She contacts an attorney, who advises her that a lawsuit would be expensive and probably fruitless. She then contacts the local advertising agency behind the bench, a one-horse outfit run by a young man named William. William is sympathetic to Nicole’s plight, but cannot legally do anything about it. Nevertheless, he lends an ear and offers her moral support, and quickly becomes more than just a new friend. As business dwindles, Nicole begins to prepare for the worst, and as she and William are cleaning out the back room, they come across a book of her grandmother’s original candy recipes. They both get to work in the kitchen and, with the guidance of the candy shop’s original recipes, create the most delightful confections the town has seen in generations.
