Crowded Christmas
"The more, the merrier"
Avery has just ended a romantic relationship with her business partner, George. The breakup was (mostly) amicable, after the mutual agreement that their personal relationship might be affecting the company’s performance. Right before Christmas, they travel together to their hometown of Pueblo, Colorado, to celebrate the grand opening of a new community center which will help revitalize the local economy. Upon their arrival, and to Avery’s surprise, they are warmly greeted by George’s parents, and he drops the bombshell that he hasn’t informed them of their breakup.
Blindsided and clearly not amused, Avery confronts George as soon as they have a moment alone. He reminds her that his mother is in poor health and begs her to keep his secret, if only so that his mother can enjoy one last perfect Christmas. Avery reluctantly agrees. She and George make an attempt to head for their hotel, but the parents won’t have it, and they all end up staying at the house with extended family. Suspicions arise that all may not be well as tensions grow between the former couple. But, to Avery’s surprise, she begins to question her own feelings, and whether she and George could have made things work after all.
