Mindy Jones, known professionally as “Mindy the Matchmaker”, frequently likes to arrange first dates for her clients at her favorite corner bistro, where she can sit at the bar and sip a cocktail as she watches the magic unfold from a distance. One night, however, love is definitely not in the air, as she watches in silent horror as one of her pairings crashes and burns. Between cringes, Mindy begins to first hear chuckling, then heckling, from Glen, the bartender. Glen apologizes for laughing, and proceeds to explain why Mindy should have seen the signs indicating that her match would be a bust. Mindy indignantly informs him that she has a master’s degree in psychology. Glen explains that no amount of formal education could compete with the people-reading skills he has learned tending bar.

 

Mindy soon begins matching wits with Glen, then comparing notes, and, before long, her matchmaking business is more successful than ever. Then Mindy sets her sights on Glen, and takes it upon herself to find him the perfect match. But, to her surprise, Mindy begins to realize that she may personally have feelings for him.
